Our business had expanded into wooden closet organizers. I liked working with these the best, as they had a solid feel to them, unlike the others. And, generally, we were paid more to install the wooden ones. This was turning into a lucrative business. We wanted to do something simple, where there was no big investment in tools or equipment, and this seemed perfect. A couple of years ago, the suburban sprawl reached out to our area, which is an old resort area, with small houses on lakes. Ground was broken for the first new subdivision, and we couldn't believe our eyes when the laid the first foundation. It looked like the foundation for an apartment building or some type of office building. It left a huge footprint. This really upset us, and we were depressed about the changes that would soon be coming to our quiet way of life. We decided to try to make lemonade out of lemons and we thought of various businesses that we could start, and organizing for those who have no time made sense. We didn't need special expertise or tools, and that is how the business got started. It was slow, at first, then picked up.
