THE NEW JOB

Every time I sit back and think about my new job, I can’t believe I’m doing it. For years, I swore up and down that I did not want to go into sales, especially door-to-door sales. I kept part of that promise since I’m only doing sales by phone. That’s right. I’m the guy that calls you up and asks you if you want one of our great closet organizers. What if you don’t want or need one of our great closet organizers? Well, then I point out all its attributes and the great and special deal we’re willing to give you if you might want to become interested. And, sure, I get a lot of people just hanging up the phone on me or being rude and insulting me and some people just start cursing me out because their wife left them that morning or they got laid off at work, but I get 2 or 3 sales a day. That’s actually really good. I’m making more than enough money to get by. It’s shocking me. My friend who’s worked here for a year kept telling me this was a great opportunity and that I should give it a try. He knew I was looking for a new line of work. I desperately wanted to stop temping and he said after a week of training I could start right away. I still can’t believe this.
